Domestically grown in California and Washington State (and, if you're lucky, locally), the harvest season in the internal market can begin as early as August and ends, depending on climate, in early November. Galas are an Apple with great sweet taste, versatile — perfect for cooking or eaten out of hand. Here are some recipes that we think are perfect for Gala apples:
